As workplaces become more diverse, you need to show that you can separate stereotypes from the reality. For example, companies may have four generations represented by their employees, but assuming a team member has certain preferences based solely on their grouping is a dangerous mood.

If you want to be seen as a leader, you need to demonstrate that you can assess people as individuals and work to take their personal preferences and perspectives into account.
