Vector Technical Inc. is pleased to announce that Jeremiah Paul Hovis, 23, has joined its staff as a Human Resource Specialist. His responsibilities include interviewing and placement of individuals; visitation to client firms to evaluate exact job requirements; and sales calls to potential clients.

        Every day for the past month, Jeremiah has driven to Vector’s home in Mentor from his native Albion, Pa., on the Pennsylvania-Ohio border. A recent graduate of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa., Jeremiah does not mind the commute because he is excited to use the skills he learned in school in real life.

        Jeremiah earned his degree in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Life was not all academics for him, however. While enjoying many thrills on the Geneva College football team, the Golden Tornadoes, Jeremiah realized that he especially wanted to help people with his choice of career.

        "I’ve liked to work with people ever since I was very young," Jeremiah says. "From everything I’m involved in, like sports and my church, I’ve learned that I like to help people."

        While studying, Jeremiah worked at Earthline Technologies in Ashtabula, where he was a human resource assistant for two years.

        His search for a job originally didn’t encompass Ohio, but after realizing the employment atmosphere in Erie, Pa. was not what he was looking for, Jeremiah picked up the Ashtabula Star Beacon, where he found an advertisement to join the Vector team. He jumped at the chance.

        "There’s a lot more growth job-wise here," he says. "I love it here so far. I really want to get my own style down, and I want to find my own niche as far as a client base, and help people get jobs around here. I know Vector Technical will allow me to do that."
