Surveys like this one, and continuing education at conferences like one I attended in Las Vegas this year will enhance Vector’s ability to compete with larger firms, and strengthen and build relationships with existing and potential clients.

As we look back on the year 2000 – our eighth year in business – I think it’s safe to say that Vector Technical went in and came out with a bang.

We entered the new millennium quite fittingly – our high-tech efforts have paid off, and we are now the proud owners of a brand new, highly interactive web site, and have expanded the tech side of Vector Technical, providing more outlets for employers seeking candidates, and candidates seeking work.

We like to think our new web site, www.vectortechnicalinc.com, puts a face on the company. Besides providing more information about Vector, the new site allows job-seekers to build their resume online, and search for jobs in our “Hot Jobs” category, which is updated weekly.

As the new year begins, I would like to take a moment to invite prospective candidates to update their resume and start thinking about career objectives. The tight labor market will continue this year. And what better way to gain exposure than to come to an agency like Vector Technical, whose main objective is to find the right path for you?

As for hiring practices, Vector understands that most firms are understaffed, and as things quiet down after the holiday rush, it is the best time of year to focus on human resources needs.

Now that we are entering another new year, I would just like to take a moment to thank everyone – clients, candidates, and Vector staff – for a great year. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Using the site, we have been able to reach out to more job seekers and companies. It gives firms an easy way to contact us, and candidates the ability to search for jobs at their leisure. Keeping our employers’ needs in minds, we also instituted thorough online background checks this year.

The area in which we saw the largest growth also reflects on our new web site. We more than doubled the amount of business we have done in our tech side, providing more software and computer related jobs than ever before and placing more candidates in these jobs.

We embraced the new millennium and all it has to offer, and as Vector enters 2001, we want to continue our strong growth, but more importantly, find more ways to serve clients and candidates. As active members of the American Staffing Association, we are always looking for ways to expand our services to both candidates and employers. In accordance, we have created a special survey which can be found on Page 4 of this newsletter, and also on our web site. Please take the time to fill out this survey so we may better serve you.
